Trying to program a WS1088 with my local agencies on MSWIN and have hit a brick wall.

I used the library import to program Forrest CO SO, Petal PD and MHP Troop J, but all I can hear is Forrest CO SO. Nothing on Petal or MHP, despite sitting in dispatch at Petal (where I work) and transmitting on our system with the scanner in the room and hearing nothing. I doubt it's a reception issue as FCSO is coming in full signal. Ditto on MHP, I can hear them on my console but nothing on the scanner.

Anyone have any clues what to try or what to look at? I've tried manual programming and the EZ Scan that comes with the scanner.

Update, I have now successfully programmed AAA ambulance and Hattiesburg PD into the scanner, but still no luck on MHP District 7 or Petal PD. I'm thinking it may be an issue with the site, but I've tried several sites with no luck.

Do people's H-Ts work in your dispatch center? Some of those places I've seen are basically Faraday cages.

If they do, you may simply be overloading the scanner. You can try using the attenuator. Depending on how far away the actual site is you could possibly just dispense with the antenna and still get reception.

we have 2 HTs in the radio room for backup and they work fine. I'm getting nothing from MHP or Petal no matter where I am in the building or outside or at home 6 miles away while all other agengies on MSWIN come in loud and clear.

there isn't any encrypted channels either o I'm scratching my head at what I'm missing.

Okay, try and get some screen shots of your setup in E-Z Scan and post them. If something is entered incorrectly, someone here will see it and help you out. I'd prefer that someone familiar with those systems jump on the train but I'll take a look and do what I can.

Ok, enclosed screenshots of the general settings and the trunked page as well as the scan list for each agency I can't hear.

Ok still no luck on getting this sorted out. I have cleared the channels out and reprogrammed my scanner several times with no luck. I can import just about anything into the scanner and it works flawlessly, but no MHP or Petal PD.

I'm thinking it's an issue with which site i'm adding from the MSWIN library on the card maybe? I've tried all of the 3 listed for Forrest Co individually as well as all at once with no luck. Really starting to get aggravating since the main reason I bought the scanner was to monitor MHP Troop J where I just retired from in March, and Petal PD where I'm working now, and these are the only two agencies I can't get programmed in.

I've also tried clearing out all the channels and using the zipcode import as well as by City, and by county, but although it imports the MSWIN talkgroups for both agencies, it won't pick them up.

Bah humbug..

No reception

I am quite sure the commercial grade HTs have much better overload protection than a consumer model scanner. Try removing the antenna or using the attenuator, It may also come from stray rf or another electrical device in the room.

Two things you might try:

Click on each site and make sure
the correct frequencies are shown..

Look to see if "Auto fill" is checked. If
not, select it.
Good luck

Already tried that and no go. Also not receiving those two agencies when I'm at home or in the truck or anywhere.

PPD is NOT encrypted. HPD has some encrypted TGs.. But PPD is clear. Unless Forrest County has made the switch to TDMA, they are still FDMA. ALL State Agencies use TDMA except for MEMA who still has FDMA use.
Your thinking of Jones County.
