I've been active on wspr for a few months and have consistently received "call signs" such as Q75KAV, Q75AOO, Q75WRD, Q75ILH mostly located in oceans or Antarctica (not on land). Lots of red spots.
I have not seen any spots where these call signs received me. No green spots.
Wspr forums seem to attribute these spots to faulty decoding - essentially the software trying hard to decode white noise.
That explanation does not account for (1) reported locations are consistently in water, and (2) some calls are received consistently (e.g. Q75KAV).
Is anybody else intrigued by this?
