#wunclub IRC still around?

I used to log onto #wunclub, more so in the winter months. I lost my computer that had the client on it a year or so ago. To make a long story longer I took a look at the Startchat channel list and did not see #wunclub in the lineup.

Is #wunclub still around and or something replace it? It was not super active but was a fun/interesting group non the less.

I don't know about #wunclub but ask Charlie and others on Starchat's #swl that is still--all these many years--alive with ~20 people logged in most of the time. As I recall Charlie was active in WUN. You may not get an immediate response but leave the logging run.

For those new to IRC, I use the thin https://www.yaaic.org/ app on my Android tablet and phone. For Windows, I prefer IceChat IRC Client :: IRC Client Extra-Ordinaire :: The Chat Cool People Use to mIRC.

I was looking it up a few days ago and the Starchat site is corrupted (high risk) so I stayed away.

Thanks Mike, I was part of that at one time, I did signed up again. I don't recall that being "real time chat" like IRC, it could be I did not know how run it either

Yes, #wunclub is still around, however activity is fairly low. Further, StarChat has issues, and has frequently dropped the room and killed the user list.

HFU has started a set of real time chatsat http://hfunderground.com:3000/ (link can be found upper right corner of https://www.hfunderground.com/board/ )

These have not quite taken up were #wunclub was, however it is building up and the General chat there has picked up were a combination of #wunclub and #pirate IRCs. The HFU chats could, easily, do what the old #wunclub did, however I don't know how many people are aware of it.

Well, for my part it was just a matter of hitting starchat up in a search and every related link came up malicious.

Finally got around login in to the site, looks good really. With any luck it will catch on, looks like many of the channels we made this year.

Mike how does #swling differ from #swl?

You know #SWL. #SWLing has less people but there is more of an emphasis on SWL listening. Plus, #SWLing has Lilliburleo which is a bot that will help the listener determine what they are listening to on just about any HF frequency.

As with IRC in general, #SWLing can be a pretty quiet place at times.

Then:

/join #wunclub

The channel doesn't appear in /list (it has been unlisted for years) but it is there and the /join command works fine.
