Last night on VORW Radio on WWCR 4840, he mentioned that WWCR would be shutting down transmitter 1 on January 1st. Has anyone heard anything else about this?

I am not surprised. TX 1 has been problematic for them for a while now. The other three Continentals are running pretty smooth but #1 had issues when I visited there a few years ago.

Just curious if this would also be because of declining revenue since I assume parts would be available for the 418s.

I can't get into the details as I was sworn to not disclose the more specifics, but it is 90% technical.

Xmtr 1 is gone. Looks like quite a bit of variety in programming has been lost. Brother Scare still monopolizing #4 though.

Does anyone know if they intend to make repairs and bring it back online in the future?

The issue is those old Continentials have several parts that are unobtanium. I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't but going to keep #1 as a "parts dog" for the other transmitters.
