WWV 15 mhz sounds like there is a signal on top of it or some kind of distortion ?

Does it sound like a steady tone? I've noticed that from time to time and just assumed it was interference.

Usually at certain times you can hear WWVH identifying just as WWV begins to identify. Could this be what you are hearing?

Yes.. For info, WWVH uses a female voice to announce the "at the tone" time. It occurs just before the male voice on WWV. It may be very weak.. That might be what you're hearing.

Heck.. Just fired up the radio as I type this and I'm hearing WWVH from Hawaii right now on top of Colorado at 5.000 MHz.

It could be a time station in another country. WWV and WWVH are not the only ones on or near 2.5, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 MHz. Some of the others are a few kHz above or below. Some of them only identify in CW.

I often get like a distortion on 15 MHz WWV, usually this is WWVH from Hawaii. Because both are sky wave for me, there is some little bit of frequency mixing.
