BCD436HP/BCD536HP: Wx confusion

Last storm I setup the 436hp on a specific frequency then turned on the weather alert as well. When an alert came in it was on 162.550 for the next county over. The county I'm in uses 162.450. Is there a way to make it only receive alerts only for 162.450 when I'm holding the scanner on a normal frequency?

By setting up the warning like I did the information you have says it will pick the first signal it finds as in it will scan channels 1-7. Channel 1 is 162.550 it will stay on the frequency till it stops receiving a signal. So basically thay mode is useless to me

I never used Wx Alert. I was thinking could you avoid the 6 channels you don't want to hear?
