I am in Las Vegas for the week and staying at Encore - I was curious if anyone has been able to verify the radio system used by Wynn / Encore recently? I downloaded the system from RR to my BCD325P2 with FreeScan and it won't lock on to any of the control channels. When I flip through the frequencies manually I have noticed that there is a data stream on more than one of the freqs simultaneously. The system is correctly identified in the scanner. I have not had a chance yet to try and get a good look at the HTs being carried by the employees

Everything else works great and I am glad LVMPD moved to a system that can be monitored again.

Thanks - Mike, KC8OWL

The license doesn't indicate it, but there's a good chance they've moved to a DMR system, which is unmonitorable with current scanners. (But DSD+ is able to monitor, unless they're using encryption.)

Yes, it would be a good idea to get a look at the handhelds they're using.

Thanks Dave. I got a good look at the HTs some maintenance guys were carrying today and they were Motorola and looked very much like the rigs being used for amateur DMR so I think you may be right - they may have switched to a DMR system. Thanks

They have transferred over to a TRBO system. Staff are now carrying XPR-7580s.
