To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I've tried all the setting I can think of for the squelch control. However, whether it be analog or a p25 conventional analog all I get is static through the speaker....

Any help would be appreciated!

Ok, so first, P25 conventional is in no way analog. It’s a completely digital (and standardized) protocol, unlike ProVoice or aegis.

There is a squelch adjust on the 100M, you just need to make sure it’s in the menus list or on a hot key. How are you programming the radio (p25c set with some analog channels mixed into the p25c, or two different sets, one for p25 and the other for analog)? Where is you speaker connected (remote head, radio mounted head, HHC, etc.)? Did you make any cables yourself, or is everything an OEM part?

I know that P25C is not Analog. I tried Analog channels in both an Analog system and a P25C system and no joy.

I did find the squelch adjust in the startup. Turned it on and set it to the default (9), still static through the speaker.

Speaker connected to both the CH-721 head and the Body -- same thing both ways static.
