• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

How did you assign the key as a Single-Key in RPM1 at the time? Key Admin only creates the AES/DES keys, the Key ID, Key Number etc. for the keyloader to load into the radio. RPM assigns the key as either a Single-Key AES or Single-Key DES key to the systems, channels or talkgroups in the mission plan.

I'm still not following how you were able to create a key in Key-Admin and then assign the key as a Single-Key AES or Single-Key DES key, as per the Single-Key feature, in RPM1, for the XG-100M.
Pondering this more, I think what I did was load single key aes via key admin, then went into the radio's control head menus and selected it as a global encryption key. Because as you said I couldn't assign it with RPM 1 and therefore also didn't assign it to any specific systems either.

So the XG100P does support ARC.4 actually … it was offered by Harris in the feature catalog price listing for unity portable…

RPM just would not let u load ARC4 due to the few software issue bugs which never where addressed and they assumed since it’s not federally complainant ehh to heck with it lol
No Ira, it's not supported in the 100P. No way to load it.
So you both are in agreement then that it can't be loaded. But Ira is also correct as I've also seen it listed in the price list for the 100P. Damn shame they didn't get that fixed in RPM1 or supported the 100P in RPM2. Which is funny as there is at least one file in the RPM2 install directory with 100P in the file name...

With RPM/RPM2 you have the ability to create and load a single DES key (if supported by the radio). Any AES operations need to be done with KeyAdmin or a KVL, even single key.

According to RPM2 single key DES is available on:
XL-185P, XL-200P, XL-185M, XL-200M
XG-15P
XG-25P, XG-75P
XG-75-Pe, XG-25M
XG-75M

And under RPM there are likely a few more options.
