    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value.     If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

    The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

XPR 3300e Receiver Question

Hello everyone! I have a question regarding an XPR 3300e radio that sometimes will refuse to receive transmissions. I have a small fleet of portable handheld radios. The majority of which are XPR 3300's, a 3500, a CP200d, an SL300 and this recent addition 3300e. My group is operating on a UHF repeater, a Motorola GR1225, and all the radios in my small system are operating well. The exception is this new XPR 3300e that I just bought on ebay. I get complaints from its user that its not receiving transmissions. I put one of my XPR 3300 radios and the 3300e side by side and I keyed up with my radio, and sure enough the regular 3300 received the transmission but the 3300e did not. The indicator light was not flashing either, so its not like it just wasn't un-muting, it just didnt feel like receiving! A few minutes later, I did the same test in the same location and the XPR 3300e received the transmission just fine. This issue is sporadic and random and I pulled up the codeplug file on the CPS for the 3300e and the file that all my 3300's are cloned to and could not find any differences.

Has anyone experienced anything like this?
