• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hi, have a question, if anyone can help would be great.
Have a newly acquired XPR-7550, model H56RDN9KA1AN

I have access to both 16 and 2.0

How can I clone a 7550e codeplug into a 7550?
Im getting the obvious model # error,

I have a codeplug from a previously owned 7550e, which is fully loaded, and I rather not have to rebuild from a blank Cp if possible.,

If you get that 25k working let me know how you did it. I've been trying for weeks to get it working and never does it work.

Had to do this recently with an entitlement for a NEXT as well, which is how i found out about connect.motrolasolutions.com

I didnt bother with the 16, as the codeplug which was my most recent DMR codeplug was already read into 2.0 a couple years ago.

Follow these instructions:

NOTE: As of June 26, 2023, Motorola is no longer supporting or generating EID keys on CPS Gen 1 (latest version CPS 16 Ver 828). You can no longer install and EID on CPS Gen 1. Application and Device EID feature keys are still able to be ordered and installed for CPS Gen 2. As of July 2023, Motorola now requires you to have a Motorola Solutions account in order to authenticate the user before you install any EIDs. You will need to be logged in to your Motorola Solutions account and open another browser window and enter connect.motorolasolutions.com in the URL. If you do not have a Motorola Solutions account we can assist you in obtaining one, please contact us. When you enter the URL into your browser, connect.motorolasolutions.com, you will be prompted to request a one-time verification code. This verification code will be sent from Okta to the email address you have registered with Motorola Solutions. Once received, enter the 6-digit code on the connect.motorolasolutions.com page, and then you will receive a message saying "MSI Authentication Portal - Success!." Then you are free to use the Customer Programming Software (CPS), Radio Management and/or Radio Central Commercial Client applications as you are accustomed. Your authentication authorization will be valid for 18 hours, after which you will need to reauthenticate. Then follow the normal installation procedure for the device or application EID. You must be connected to the internet and your radio must be connected to the computer via the programming cable. You must have all firewall and anti-virus turned off in order to communicate with the Motorola server. Please make sure no ports are blocked on your router. You should be on a desktop computer, not a tablet or a tethered device. You must have all firewall and anti-virus turned off in order to communicate with the Motorola server. Please make sure no ports are blocked on your router. Do not use VPN. You should have a clean copy of CPS installed and a geographically based IP address in the US. This key is good for the life of the hard drive and only the computer you install it on, so please choose your computer wisely and be mindful when replacing or reformatting the hard drive. We are not responsible for any lost keys due to installation errors caused by a failure to follow instructions. We are not responsible for compatibility issues. In CPS Gen 2, go to Menu, Licenses. Then REGISTER APPLICATION FEATURES (Not Device Features). Enter EID but best to CUT AND PASTE, be careful not to copy additional spaces. In CPS Gen 2, REGISTER and then ACTIVATE. You can then CONFIRM by going to the VIEW FEATURE SETS in the CONFIGURATION MENU. The 20/25 Khz Wide Band entitlement field should read PURCHASED.
