• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Good mornin', ya'll! Of the three XPR 3500e units I own, one has been separated from its original front half. I can't get hold of a replacement with a decent connection to the speaker/cable unless I pull it from a working radio. The only solution I can think of is over the air or WiFi programming, not sure if either is possible since it's been programmed with CPS 2.0. It has Bluetooth programming capability but CPS 2.0 does not.
It's not mission critical, it's a side project of mine, but I am willing to put money and effort into it. EID's can be activated on it if I swap in the front panel from another radio, so that's covered.
What hardware and EID's are needed to program without a cable?

If the side connector is messed up you are kind of SOL. If I remember correctly the 3500e doesn't come with WiFi by default. CPS2.0 doesn't have Bluetooth programming even if it was enabled in the radio. Your only option really is to get a new flex. Remember that a dust cover is cheaper than a new flex! I've never worked with WiFi programming so maybe someone else can pitch in here

EDIT: The part number for the WiFi EID is HKVN4381 and RTW has them for $80

I got a new flex with the new faceplate, it took three weeks to arrive and was DOA. I've given up on eBay returns, but possibly a new first party flex can be had from a dealer.
WiFi is Available for Purchase, as is the semi functional Bluetooth Audio and Programming. I haven't tried CPS 16 with Bluetooth. There's no point, as the radio was programmed with CPS 2.0.
I purchased a dust cover, but the flex I got had been damaged by an eBay reseller for the "eBay refurbished" program, they deny that anything was wrong when the radio left. They'd burnt the flex in half.
Now it's kinda to the point an old car would be. I don't *need* the radio, it just bugs me to see that it can't be programmed easily.
I've seen the code plug from a unit with an "Essential Services" package. That radio has nearly every option listed as "Free" except Capacity Plus. I can't find anyone who sells that package, though. If I can find one for sale, depending on cost, I might go ahead and get it.

UPDATE: I know it's been a while.
Ken with North Georgia Communications sold me a *quality* faceplate recently. The radio is up and running.
The old faceplates might be useful for odds and ends like badging and speakers should the need arise.
Thanks to all involved!
