All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi all,

after the CPS 2 has removed the possibility to programming the radio XPR7550 with Bluetooth, has anyone have successfull to programming the radio with Wifi using the CPS 2 ?
I'm not so expert of network in general, but I seem to understand that when you use the programming cable the radio assumes an IP address on your home network; so why it shouldn't be possible to use the wifi instead of the cable. Sorry if my idea is senseless, but I am not so expert of PC networking.

Thanks

It can't be done with CPS 2.0

The only wireless programming option is Over The Air Programming (OTAP) which can only be done with Radio Management 2.0 (RM) software either via a MOTOTRBO DMR repeater with NAI data (code HKVN4212) installed; or via a gateway radio using DDMS software.

For reference: MOTOTRBO Over The Air Programming OTAP Bundle

Quite honestly, it's overkill for a handfull of radios. But for 12 or more, OTAP is essential.

I set up Wifi programming for about 150 public works trucks. Initially, they were programmed for analog. On cut over day, set up an access point by the gas pumps. As they came in to fuel up, the radios reprogrammed. Worked like a champ.

The Harris RPM2 package natively supports programming their XL series over wifi. Once you've got it figured out it works great.

As usual, while Motorola may make the better radio, Harris has the better programming software. A truth I eventuall came to concede.

Motorola could learn a lot from Harris.
