XTL 1500 Flashcode

Let me start off by saying I know very little about flashcodes, but I do get the basic concept that certain items are required for certain systems and features.

Our FD currently has three 7/800 MHz XTL 1500's in service on our P25 P1 provincial trunked radio system with the flashcode 508008-000488-5 (at least that is what is on the tag, see attached image).

If we get confirmation back from our radio shop that they will allow used radios on the system, we're looking to pick up 3 more units but finding 3 with matching flashcode is proving to be difficult.

Unfortunately we can't justify the over $10,000 price tag for 3 new mobile units at this time so we're trying to go this route.

I did find a listing on ebay for 7/800 MHz XTL 1500's with the flashcode 508048-00148C-0. Unknown if these would work for us.

So the radios in the listing have all the same features our current ones do (with a few extras).

So would I be safe to assume these would work fine for us?

While I don't advocate using ebay radios for a department on a legit trunking system, yes they will work as long as they do not have an ASK

Nothing wrong with used as long as it has been checked by a tech, and properly aligned on a service monitor and is meeting specs.
