Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Good day all, I have my XTS 3000 programmed to be able to scan TG IDs on the current San Diego RCS system. It works great as I am able to hear digital and analog traffic, hold on TG IDs...life was good. Now I'm trying to program the Nex Gen system and I'm not able to hear anything yet. I made a new trunking system with the new control channels, new truking personality and zone but I am still not able to hear anything. Any advice or recommendation on how to program this new system so I can scan and hold TG IDs? I know the NexGen frequencies are not the same split and offset as the old system.

Also, my radio does not transmit or try to affiliate in any way. Took me a few weeks of testing to make sure of this.

Thanks

Ted

If the new system is P25, you have to have a very specific flashcode and firmware for your XTS3000 to work on it. As well, the system must use a standard Motorola 800MHz bandplan and you'll have to keep in mind that your radio won't do 700MHz channels.

I assume this is the system San Diego-Imperial County RCS NextGen Trunking System, Various, California - Scanner Frequencies

Looks like the system uses Phase II TDMA talkgroups. Your radio doesn't support TDMA.

You'll need to upgrade to an APX.
