Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

hopefully someone can help me out with my programming issue... When I purchased my xts2500 I ran the flashcode and it came back as follows:
Q806 ASTRO IMBE Digital Operation
H14 Enhanced Digital ID Display
H38 SmartZone Systems Operation
Q173 SmartZone Omnilink MultiZone Operation
Q361 ASTRO 25 9600 Baud Trunking
Q574 9600 Baud Trunking

When I hooked it up to CPS the only this enabled is the Q574 9600Baud Trunking

any suggestions??

If you are looking for SmartZone (3600 control channel) it is missing the Q883 3600/9600 interoperability/MM signaling feature.

I guess I just don't understand why the the flashcode says it has all the other options, but cps says it only has the q574? Is there a way to re enable everything the flashcode has?

When you say "you ran the flash code", were you reading it from the label on the back of the radio, or actually reading it in the CPS? Many times the flash code is changed from what it was when it left the factory, so what's printed on the tag is no longer what's actually in the radio. Also, I recently picked up some Astro 25 gear, & when I ran the flash code that comes up when I read the radio on the Akardam site, it isn't always the same as the features shown in the CPS when I read the radio. While Akardam does an excellent job with his site, it hasn't been 100% correct with my Astro 25 radios.

What exactly is the flashcode that you are seeing in CPS when you read the radio?
That will tell you what is in it. The other "remote" possibility is that it is actually an XTS1500 and not an XTS2500. That model limits the features by default, but without having you post the model #, also read with CPS, this is only a guess.
