• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have been chasing my tail on this...and I have read through SEVERAL prior forums with no luck to solving this..
I just purchased an XTS2500 that for the life of me cannot seem to get this thing to open on a scan list member

Here's what I have:
3 member scan list, channel 1 (simplex) and 2 being priority..calls/tones are dispatched on channel 1 and channel 2 serves as a talkback/truck traffic channel
When parked on channel 2, the radio will not unmute for channel 1 during scan

For channel 1 personality unmute/mute is set to "and unmute/or mute", no signaling present, and the scan list is #1 which this personality is built into the scan list, it also shows "mixed vote scan enable" checked under the scan tab for the personality options
PL decode is good because I can receive just fine if i'm parked on channel 1 with no scan
I can also push the "monitor" button I have set up and it will open channel 1 during the scan and receive the audio

This CPS is far beyond what I have been used to in other versions of CPS and I'm just not sure where I should be looking. I've tried too many different options and check boxes at this point to even remember what I have tried.

It will never unmute during scan, since it never stops on that channel it can't detect the tones afaik. I'm not a moto person but priority scan may mess that up as well since it checks the other channel and doesn't hear the entire set.

Dang, that makes a lot more sense. We have other M products at work, and they do just fine with what I was trying to accomplish so I assumed this might be the same. DRYFB what you mention is exactly what I was experiencing when it WAS picking the channel up...just wouldn't hit on the tones portion...may not be the end of the world if I can get it back to working that way lol

Thank you guys for your help!
