I know some may question this process, But can anyone tell me exactly how to do the mars cap mod on this rig? From all I can find by my dear friend Google, Everyone says just cut the "green wire" It's so easy.... yet I am for some reason failing to see any green wire. Can anyone pinpoint me to the right direction here? Maybe provide a photo or a better process than the green wire? Thanks!

Re

Thanks, Don't worry I have no intentions on transmitting on anything illegal, Just want to be able to use it for the MURS channels on low power. Also this link you gave me pointed me right to the same: "Cut the green wire, it's that easy. What I am in the pursuit for is some kind of photo showing me exactly what to cut, because again.. I do not see any green wire on the top of the radio. I don't want to go cutting anything unless I am 200% sure exactly what to snip.

Why do you need to expand the TX to match the RX (140-174) unless you intend to transmit out of band? Just a silly question.

On some of the older radios, you need to do the mod just to rx beyond the ham band. At some point, extended rx came with all the radios, & the mod extended tx, but on older radios, the mod did rx, & tx. I'm not sure which class the 2500 falls into. GARY

"I'm not sure which class the 2500 falls into."

Did you misunderstand what I wrote? I didn't know either until I looked up the specs.

I dont know admit him but I sure dont understand what you wrote. I dont see anything but a question about why he needs to operate out of band.
