Hello. I just have one question about the tone setting (Encoding Method) on what to use for a SIM Channel.

When I enter in a sim channel and if I only want to enter in a CTCSS or DCS tone on TX only, what do I select from the box to do this, the options are: (T ENC, TSQ, DC ENC, DCS, T+DCS and TSQ+DC)

And what would I select to put the CTCSS or DCS tone on both TX & RX

Just need to know which one I would select.

Let me know

Thanks

Tone Encode, that puts a CTCSS/PL tone on the TRANSMIT side.

Tone Squelch, that puts a CTCSS/PL tone on the RECEIVE side.

Digital Code Encode, that puts a DCS/DPL code on the TRANSMIT side.

Digital Coded Squelch, that puts a DCS/DPL code on the RECEIVE side.

T+DCS and TSQ+DC

Not sure about these, been a while since I owned any Yaseu gear. Might be a split tone setting. Someone else will likely give you the answer

RX Tone is T SQL. TX Tone in T ENC.

That should get you what you need, unless one of those T+DCS or TSQL+DC does something I'm not understanding. Hopefully the owners manual could point you in the right direction with those.

Yes I have the tones for the channel(s) that need them.

Just haven’t played with one of these radios for a long time. So just didn’t know what each thing meant when setting up those tone settings for the channel(s) that need them.

Should be good now.

Thanks

This puts PL on both Tx and Rx.

This put DPL on both Rx and Tx.

T+DCS should be Tx PL, Rx DPL
TSQL+DC should be Tx DPL, Rx PL
