Yaesu: Yaesu FT-7900R Not Transmitting on 440Mhz

Grounded the antenna and confirmed that the transmission is going through on my handheld from a friend a block away.
I used a 15" ground strap, connected one end to the trunk lip mount (cleared the part where the screws go into the trunk so bare metal was showing to ground it even better. I will work on putting some sealer on it so it doesn't rust up) and ran the wire to the inner part of the trunk where I sanded a section and ran a bolt/nut to the strap.
