I'm suspecting that they may have switched to a new radio, possibly TRBO. I was getting them in the clear a couple of weeks ago, but now it's that annoying sound. Anyone else have them in their regular listening list of freqs that can confirm any changes ?

Yes, both 165.600 and 166.620 are using what sounds like MOTOTRBO over the scanner.
I didn't notice until I read this thread . I took the PL's off and heard the TRBO right away.

Yes I can confirm they are now using a Mototrbo system. I converted them not to long ago.

Geeze, how am I supposed to know what kind of coffee they order ? Have ya ever noticed..."I'll have a large Delta Delta", or "a medium Romeo" lol
