I just uploaded my first YouTube video of the AR-DV1 at
https://youtu.be/2O46DOwuF_g
I spent some time uploading the video, it was correctly oriented when I uploaded it, and now it is 90 degrees out of sync on YouTube. If anyone knows how to fix this, please advise me immediately. Anyway, this will give you a good idea of what the AR-DV1 sounds like.
Spoke to Taka at AOR yesterday and he said new firmware should be ready later today (Friday 6/5/15).
The video you see now is with firmware 1505C from May 14th. I finally learned the long-short-short enter sequence for entering channels in memory. Then I was able to load about 40 channels very quickly.
What you see (turn your head sideways for now) and hear is scanning in the middle of the night in Los Angeles of a combo of NXDN railroad, LAPD P25, and analog stations. If I turn the squelch up almost all the way, the scan rate is about 15 per second.
Will play with the new firmware this weekend. Now that I have the AR-DV1 scanning, it sounds pretty good. Put the 4 Gb card back in and seems to be running cooler. The video is with the 4 Gb card. Enjoy, and don't twist your neck too much.
Again, please, if someone knows how to correct the orientation of a YouTube video, let me know. I don't have much experience with these videos.
