Having an issue with the battery compartment, works fine on the power lead.
Brand new batteries are in it, the circuit is fine, ie 6v to the scanner, but it won't use the batteries for power.
This is a "just happened" issue too, picked it up and it wouldn't turn on :/

Does anyone repair these, or can take a look as to why it operates only on power, and not batteries?

Does the power jack disconnect the battery, and if so perhaps the operation of that jack a couple of times has cleaned the contact?

I have one of these too, but never had any problems with it. I powered it up the other day and it works as good as ever.

I spent a lot of time programming it for the general service frequencies like marine, air and business that I like to listen to.

It's one of my favorite scanners to take on a beach vacation. Pair it with a RH77CA antenna and it can't be beat.
