Hello. I have had a Yupiteru MVT7100 for many years. It has been unused in the last few. I took it out recently, put new batteries in etc. However all does not seem totally well now. Initially, for example, the squelch noise was as expected on turning the knob but now it is either on all the time, wherever the knob is, or not at all. I can alter the frequency and step but pressing ENT does nothing and it tends to revert to the original setting. I've tried reseting the receiver.

It seems I have a choice. Send it off for a service. Or reluctantly buy another. That raises further dilemmas! Which? Uniden UBC125XLT??? Any recommendations? (I have an iMac computer by the way - some receivers need to be connected sometimes?).

Thanks v much - any thoughts.

There are one or two places here (uk) who say they can do this sort of thing. But worth it??

Hi Guyd24
Use my Yupi 7100 ALL the time as I find it really pulls in those signals.
I also use Yupi 225 dedicated Airbands and even have 2 mobile versions Yupi 8000.
I know a fantastic engineer here in UK you could ask price/advice etc...let me know and can pass on his details.
Good luck,
Kevin ( US Airforce Mildenhall, Suffolk)

Hello. I have had a Yupiteru MVT7100 for many years. It has been unused in the last few.
It keeps its memory by a backup capacitor that would have lost its voltage when not being used for a couple of years and it seems it will be damaged by that low voltage and needs to be replaced, or the memory function will not work properly. Will take some care and soldering skill.

Javiation in UK mentions:
They use a 5.5v, .22f backup capacitor for CPU/memory retention
so that may be the problem.

Panasonic Gold Capacitor SD Series
Panasonic # EECSOHD224H
