One example, from page 44 of the Pro-97 pdf manual:
(during a search)
"Whenever this feature is turned on, the scanner stops
at the correct frequency. When you turn this feature off,
the scanner stops when it detects an active signal."

If someone is transmitting on 155.475 MHz, and your search sees them on 155.470 MHz, it will tune to the correct frequency - 155.475 MHz.
