WS1040: Power/Turns On, But Nothing On Screen

I have a WS1040 that I had purchased for a friend, Programmed it up and its worked fine since! Went to go turn off the backlight and I noticed that the whole screen is blank! Power, Backlight, But no text whatsoever! Has anyone else ran into this? Can it be fixed without being sent back, or is it done? (AC Power at all times)

Well, it was an ebay find marked as new, so I'm not sure how to go about that. I've never had issues with that before.

ebay has various return policys if the item isnt as described. did you see a pic of the screen on and lit before purchase. id try to send it back or cancel on credit card. ive bought 2 scanners off ebay and only because of good pics and a return policy. BTW do you have the proper power supply and/or battery holder

I ordered it in 2017 and its worked fine until now! And I'm using the provided AC Plug/Cord.
