For anyone interested in listening/logging in the Gulf Coast area, this band has been delivering some unbelievably great stuff... From the heart of New Orleans, I am listening to the University of West Florida TRS (6D37), not to mention LWIN and MSWIN sites, and other systems from all over the Gulf Coast. I have also discovered about 5 new Entergy sites not in the database.

Anyway, the last couple of hours have been fun... a change from the normal stuff I hear everyday!

...Equipment is a combination of BC396XT and PSR-500, and a high-gain 770 and high-gain 850 yagi, 15' up. Normally very difficult to hear any MSWIN sites, to give an idea.

Enjoy... It also appears that other bands have similar propagation this evening.

Even noticing some distant LWIN sites that share the same cc overiding some sites that are closer to me. Last night I had the Avoyelles site climbing all over the Jeanerette site and it seems there is another site overpowering the Jeanerette site tonight and does not seem to be Avoyelles. Looking at the DB it looks like Hammond shares the same cc as Jeanerette and Avoyelles. If that is the case it may be the Hammond site knocking down the Jeanerette site. I have a couple of other sites (Ramah and Vermillion) I cannot pickup tonight because other sites are interfering. It would be nice if all sites on the LWIN system would use different cc's and not any one site would share the same cc. This would make it a lot more pleasing to monitor, however I do know the state would not do that for us hobbiest.
