Just an update...

Tropical Storm Humberto made Cat 1 hurricane strength just a couple hours before coming ashore 60 miles northeast of Galveston at about 4 AM. This storm is going to assist in the drought situation in Mississippi, 'Bama and Georgia over the next couple of days, but the amount of Gulf moisture with this one could bring gusty winds and 10 inches of rain to certain locations over the next 2 to 4 days. Just a heads up for lowlands flooding potential - Keep the scanners on and if you must travel, Be Safe !!

We can only hope the the remnants of Humberto can break through our rain shield. I'll take whatever we can get.

Waiting on the much needed rain...

Actually it started raining a bit earlier today here in the Anniston area and we're having a light rain as I type this.

However I'll be sure to be monitoring all the proper agencies on my scanner(s) and HAM radio(s) due to me being a member of both the Calhoun County ARES & RACES groups.

Loved the rain today!!!

No problems really, although Tuscaloosa and Jefferson counties were under a tornado warning for a short period of time.

Thankfully nothing really became of it.

We got a grand total of .04 inches of rain from the remnants of Humberto. Locations all around us got anywhere from .5 inches to 2.5 inches. The Prattville rain shield continues to hold. :(
