CHP 700 Mhz - Scanner stays locked on VRS 16

I've started scanning/logging the new CHP 700 Mhz system. There's a thread in the main California forum about some of the recent changes, but I'm posting this here to see if anyone else is experiencing a lockup on VRS 16 (769.96875).
I see a P25 NAC of 9D9H with a site ID of 29, so I think it's a legit signal, it's just there 24/7 with no audio.

Anyone else see this ?

Thanks for the pointer. Is CHP on that system ? I just see the "CHP Testing" talkgroups listed. I'll start logging that system too - although over the last 5 mins or so, it's been fairly quiet. The other thread I posted now has a discussion of VRS 16 and how it's a control channel for several hilltop sites around the state.

My scanner does the same on that freq. I just lock it out. CHP is suppose to start transitioning to CRIS next year and going ENC.

Yes you are exactly right. Why do you think that that single conventional P25 Frequency of 769.96875 was strictly for CHP and now its absorbed into The CRIS TRS system. I am pretty sure everyone can put the dots together now. Also, for ENC most definately on the TAC's for sure. As for Dispatch thats hanging on the fence but why not too. The clock keeps moving forward and never goes backward. Its all a matter of time. people tend to not agree and think I am crazy but everything I say happens.

There is no new TRS system moving forward without Encryption. Its here to stay and all of Law Enforcement is getting locked down
