I've found a 5 site system on the FCC registry that I have a short window to be within range. Emissions designator indicates it is DMR. Is there a way to run discovery on all 5 at the same time in conventional? The step is non standard, as the frequencies are .2875, .325, .375, 4875 & .5625
You can't run a Discovery session on more than one site at a time. What you could do, however, is put all of the frequencies into a One Frequency Trunked DMR system. Enter each frequency as a separate 'site', set for color code search. Set the system to ID Search, and (preferably) include a Department with a dummy TGID.
Set the scanner to record everything, and let it run as long as possible. Once you end your test run, & discontinue recording, review your audio files via the
Universal Scanner Audio Player. If you see a specific talkgroup coming up on one or more frequencies (at different locations), and the recordings indicate it's the same usage, that would suggest a system. It would also suggest a system if you see that TGID being used on two different frequencies, that are at the same location. The audio player would let you see color code(s) used, slot used, as well as hearing the conversations. If, at a location where there are two or more licensed frequencies, you see a specific TGID only popping up on one of the frequencies, and always the same Slot number, that would suggest that these are being used as conventional DMR, a true trunked system. But as already discussed in other threads, in order to utilize TGID & SLot as part of your programming, you have to program the Uniden scanners using an OFT system, not just as conventional.
As
John has already suggested, you could just program them as conventional, but unless you are using a logging program, such as ProScan, conventional will not give you a clear indication as to talkgroup & slots being used.
