Delaware County Fire Channel Scanning BCD436HP

I’m currently listening to Delaware County Police and Fire and I want to know if there is a setting or anything I can Change to help with reception on the BCD436HP

Some of the channels I listen to come in crystal clear while others are scratchy all on the same system

For example Fire 1 and 3 and 7/8come in crystal clear and Fire 5 is Scratchy

any help appreciated

It's an antiquated system long overdue for replacement. Not every tower broadcasts every frequency. Connecting to an external antenna tuned for UHF & mounted high up may allow you to pick up the scratchy channels a bit clearer. I take it your on the southeast side of the county?

Prior to the pandemic the county was taking bids to replace the T-band conventional system. I'm sure the pandemic has put a damper on those efforts. Further discussion about that here

Yup south East is correct.... I did know about the talks for a new system but I know it’s not something that happens over night

crazy that years ago I had no issues listening to almost every channel in the entire County not it seems hit or miss :-/

Fire channels 5 and 6 transmitter is at the county prison in Glen Mills. That signal is designed to cover the western and southwestern areas of the county.
