EL PASO COUNTY – Residents have been evacuated because of a wildfire burning in eastern El Paso County.
The fire started around 2:30 p.m. at Peyton Highway and Squirrel Creek Road. The fire spread northeast and as of 4:30 p.m., was in the area of Henderson Road and Ellicott Highway.
According to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, at least one home is on fire and other structures are threatened.
Those who live in the area have been evacuated and others are being asked to stay away.
