My feed keeps going offline. I have talked with my ISP and they said my signal is good and that there are no issues with my service. ANY help will greatly be appreciated. I haven't had any issues until recently and nothing has changed on my end (or atleast I believe).

I am willing to hear some suggestions to see if I can get this resolved ASAP. I want to provide a quality feed for everyone..

ISP: Comcast
Modem: RCA
Router/Firewall: CISCO PIX501

ESET NOD32 - I do not believe it is AV related.

I am getting my Modem replaced tomorrow for my internet connection.

FWIW - I had an RCA modem on Comcast at one time and it was problematic to say the least. Once I switched to a Motorola, all was well.

Just for grins, did you try turning off your AV for a day to see what happens?

Pick up a trial of Ping Plotter
PingPlotter
and run it with your RR mount point as the far end for a while. It might give you an idea where your packets are getting lost.

Well I am having a similar issue. My feed continually goes up and down to RR, yet my feed on my second PC seems to work fine. I swapped PC feeds and it stays with the RR feed. I continually get feed down then feed up messages on the PC. I tried playing with the size and still get it. Started about a month ago.

Are you certain the feed is actually being lost from RR? Windows routinely pops these messages on my feed PC with no loss of connection to RR. Plus as others pointed out to me, if your display goes into screen saver or off to conserve power, Windows saves all those messages until the screen is active again (i.e. - mouse movement) - then you get a bunch of them all at once...

Whats your virus software?

If its AVG then thats mostly likely your issue.

I use AVG and have the same problem. What can I do to correct the problem? Several months ago my PC crashed. My local computer repair shop installed a new hardrive that included AVG. I had this problem then, but I thought I fixed it. I started getting "RR offline" messages sent to my email several weeks ago but when I checked the status online it showed that I was connected and status was good. But, I was not connected. I figure it has to be a AV issue. What can I do?

Unfortunately scannercast and AVG do not go together. The only way to resolve the issue is to not use AVG.

connection

are you running a wireless modem? I had to redown load my wireless because my wireless kept dropping the feed. So far it has been staying up and running.

Well he stated he has AVG so im 99% sure thats his issue. Every (or at least most) provider who has ran AVG with scannercast has reported the same issues. AVG just does not work well with scannercast for some reason. Although, running a feed with a wireless connection can cause it to drop some; we recommend running it through a wired connection.

I also have Eset and have had numerous issues with it. Sometimes it can go for days with no issues and then all at once it will get a fly in it's pants and constantly disconnect my feed. I have tried to use windows firewall and turn off Eset's that has seemed to help my issues a ton!!

My went down twice a day for the last 3 or 4 days.
Just happened now, and I see all Wisconsin feeds are at zero, so it's not just me

We just rebooted one of our master audio servers about 10 min ago - it's been up and running fine for well over 100 days. Please don't consider this evening's events to be related to your issues.

Feed going up and down constantly

My feed has been going up and down constantly since 10-19-2010. I have a PC dedicated to the feed and have not changed anything with it. It does not have any anti virus software. I have rebooted it just in case something got corrupted but that didn't help.

Can an administrator take a look at my feed and let me know if there is any problem on your end?

Thanks!

Here is my feed: Hainesville, Round Lake, Round Lake Beach, Round Lake Heights, and Round Lake Park Police Live Scanner Audio Feed
