• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Well, the Bonner Tower is part of the Leavenworth County simulcast system now. It used to be a stand alone site until that system was added- so you are probably just seeing old information that hasn't been cleaned up yet. All you need for your area is to program in the Leavenworth simulcast freqs to access the system, then add the talk groups you want to listen to. Unless you are traveling over to Topeka, adding the Topeka tower won't do anything for you.

There are several good posts here about how a wide area P-25 system works. I suggest that you take the time and read the KSICS "Sticky" above - it will answer most of your questions and give you a better understanding of how KSICS functions.
