HP-1: HomePatrol 1 Newbie

Hello, been a Uniden BC396T and BC396XT user for some time, but, just took the jump to a HP1.
I programmed the BC396T and XT "by hand" without a computer.
Can any Micro USB cable be used with the HP1, or does it have to be a 'special cable' with a chip
as it appears I will need software to modify the rebanded trunked system control channels and can't change them on the radio itself, but only with software?

Is there a good tutorial on getting it up and running and is there a "Mark's Scanner Book" for this model as well?
If there's a 'sticky' somewhere can you point my nose towards it?

And 'Sentinal' should already be on the 2GB microSD card?
And a 'straight thru' micro USB cable is okay and doesn't require a chip or serial/USB converter like the 396XT?

A straight through "MINI" USB cable is used, not micro.

Downloaded it, but P25 system does not have the most recent 800MHz control channels. How can I change what's in the radio to the actual Lucas County simulcast frequencies? I got nuthin...

Go to the Update tab in HomePatrol Sentinel and Update Master HPDB.
