I went ahead and started to use BuTel, been very happy with it. The contact issues kinda scared me away from WINXXX.

I haven't seen Scancat in a long time!
I received the ScanCat-Lite V1.8.1 CD in a few days. The web account download link was eventually fixed and worked! So thanks big to Jim Springer. This version runs on Win10 and can program my PRO-7, PRO-164, AOR AR8600, and BC125AT. Does not support my ICOM IC-R20 or IC-R5 but CS-R5 and CSR20 software works well enough.
Hello. Could you show a screenshot ScanLite in Windows 10 to configure the port USB or RS232. I constantly have the problem of errors at the end of reading banks.

Pick Radio first then Baud Rate 9600, and COM Port# then Accept
Check the COM port advanced settings Windows 10, see below

Running Scancat Lite Plus 1.6 (2014) - had originally purchased Scancat Gold with the all of CD's back in 1996.
Started to use the 1.6 version on my BC 780. Somehow I erased all of my data on the scanner. I thought I backed it up - but no luck.
I also have the BCH426 running with the Uniden software and that you need to upload to erase the data - but I guess not with the 780.
Looking to populate my 780. The saved file formats from the 2 packages are different as I have a complete database from Unidens servers.
Looking to access and download a database so I can populate the 780. Any ideas as to how?
Reviewing the Scancat site there is a download that made reference to free access to the radioreference site - but not sure if that is still active. what is involved and didn't want to upgrade only for that.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

I just ordered the "new version" which I see has a direct download - hopefully it's almost $ 60 well spent.
I know that SCANCAT let me connect my RADIO with the USB to Serial connector.

I sent a few messages to Jim and tried calling several times Friday, Saturday and Monday. Never heard back / No answering of the phone - but on Saturday my credit card was charged (manually entered I believe) and today (Tuesday 2/20/24) I received the COMBO CD in the mail. Did not get any emails with the download files - but I did receive what I was looking for in the CD.
I will still give Scancat a A+
So if Jim has passed away, I wonder who is in charge and shipping the CD's out?
I can't believe the process is so automated that it continues to take orders and ship the items?

I am connecting to the 436HD. Took a while to find it on the radio window - but once I found it listed as a HomePatrol - you no longer assign a port and there is some text that states that. Once the scanner is plugged in you choose the drive the files are on.
Still trying to quickly come up to speed as I have not used the older version since 2014.

Having an issue accessing the RadioReferenceFrequencyManager function (I have a separate thread opened but not having a lot of success)- where the county's do not show up when clicking on any state, Watched the Scancat Tutorial Video several times, but can't figure it out. I must have something configured incorrectly, but I have been unable to figure it out. Plugged in the 436 and the 780XLT to see if it makes any difference and it didn't.

Scancat 1.8.1 accessing RR
Anyone know if Scancat 1.8.1 has a direct access to RR? I tested the Proscan and there is a login page required - but don't see anything with Scancat - but I could have easily missed it. The Youtube videos only talk about accessing the Database through your personal scanner files you download...
