Larimer County Emergency Services responded to assist the Livermore Fire Protection District today on a 400 acre grass fire located near Highway 287 and Red Mountain Road outside of Livermore.
The latest reports indicate the fire is approximately 75% contained. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Two Colorado Forest Service tankers out of Grand Junction were called in to assist and performed a total of four drops on the affected area. The tankers will stage at the Fort Collins/Loveland airport until operations are completed.
Several homes were threatened for a short period of time but no evacuations were needed and no structures were damaged. There were no injuries or road closures.
Other agencies assisting included Wellington Fire Department, Poudre Fire Authority, United States Forest Service, and the Glacier View Fire Protection District.
