I have programmed for two friends conventional and trunking system on the Whistler WS-1040
in the Sate of Missouri, This includes the (MOSWIN) Missouri Highway Patrol trunking system,
after programming the trunking system in about two weeks to a month the trunking system
somehow just dropped out of the radio but the conventional channels remains, I use PSREDIT500,
I also have WIN500 and ARC500, The last time I programmed the WS-1040 radio the (MOSWIN)
trunklng dropped out but the radio acted like it would accept the program but nothing changed,
The radio was sent off to Whistler and according to their paper work a LOGIC MODULE had to
be replaced, I was wondering if anyone elese has encountered this program, I also sent Whistler
the programming and they successfully loaded it onto the WS-1040.

While I have not had your specific issue I had data retention issues with my Legacy 800 and a friend of mine had a reception issue with is Trx-1. Both of our fixes by Whistler was a replacement of the LOGIC Module. That part seems to be the cure all for many GRE/Whistler radios with operational issues.

Once you have your programming back in and working, you can save it in a V-folder. Its in a different memory location it seems. If you loose the trunking info you can reload it from the V- folder file.

I’ve had 3 ws1040s exhibit this exact same thing. I had to send them back to Whistler under warranty. The repairs noted “nodule” rather than module. Likely a typo.

Whistler wanted the file and I sent it to them and they reloaded it, eveytime i reprogammed it I put a v-folder backup file, most times it would be there and it got where it would delete the v-folder file also

I had same problem. they replaced the module two times. did the same thing again, now they don't want to stand behind their repairs and try to fix the recurring problem.

Doesn't sound like them. How long have you had the scanner? The warranty is only for 1 year. If its over a year old its out of warranty.

it was fixed under warranty two times but still has the same logic module issues

:( Sounds to me they sold you a defective unit. Tell them three times after two in warranty should be a replacement new unit. I know saying it is a 'Lemon' invokes a vehicle but after three times with the same issue, you might have a good case. :(

Ive dealt with a few new and used car dealers in my life time to know it doesn't matter if the same part fails ( for whatever reason) and it was covered under warranty, as soon as that warranty has passed; free it wasn't.

they got back to me and replaced logic module again for free

:) GREAT to hear. Sometimes they just need a comment in the right place, to do the right thing. I would also bet they sent a note saying something like 'this is the last time this will be fixed'? If not, that is also good. Maybe this time, they looked further into the radio to see why it keeps dumping logic modules and fixed that (like spare internals from another radio)? Could also be a bad batch of logic modules. I have a 65" DLP Mitsubishi TV that had a bad DLP chip, that had a bad batch of them, but mine was over the warranty. I found the source recall/settlement webpage where they were supposed to replace them for free but at first they wanted me to take it to a repair facility 50 miles away and pay a flat fee of $100 dollars. The 'recall' for these DLP chips said Mitsubishi was replacing them in home for free so I kept pressing the representatives on the 800 number, and they finally relented (am sure it helped to mention that on Mitsubishi Facebook, outlining what I would in my opinion call a program of recovering some of the losses). I am sure their insurance paid a settlement so why would they be charging customers at all? Big business recoups through various avenues?? Anyway, glad you got your radio fixed again, lets hope they got it right this time. :)
