Motorola 7.x Upgrade

Morris County Trunking System, Morris County, New Jersey - Scanner Frequencies

My county's trucking system will be upgraded shortly to Moto's 7.x system. I'm just curious...will digital scanners be able to continue to recieve this system? I don't know much about the 7.x systems, other than it will exponentially increase our systems capability through pooling of existing frequencies used in the seperate zones.

you will still be able to pick up any non-encrypted channels, i did not read the link so i don't know if they are even encrypting anything during the upgrade. as far as scanner reception is concerned the 7.x upgrade will likely not even be noticeable.

edit: 7.x upgrades over older systems have mostly back room enhancements. in older ASTRO systems you had to have file servers for each option(zone control/sitecontrol/reports/etc..) and with 7.x several can be combined onto virtual servers. there are features that are added in as well, though the differences in features depends on which previous version you are upgrading from.
