Hello !

I have a road trip from Midland thru San Angelo and down to Austin, TX and would like to monitor Texas DPS on my scanner.

If anyone can provide the proper frequencies for the DPS repeaters in Austin and NW of Austin, which would be Marble Falls, Llano, Brady, and Eden, I would appreciate it .

Thanks !

** Yes I am using the database but any "real world" reporting regarding the more active freqs, etc are what I am after.

Base A1 and Base A2 are Austin's main dispatch frequencies.

If you have a 700MHz P25 capable scanner, plug in the "Capitol" site on the Greater Austin/Travis Regional Radio System and all the DPS talkgroups, for some not so typical DPS chatter.

... and CLE.

Hey guy, can you be more specific as to where on the GATRRS we are supposed to find "CAPITOL" ?
I can't find anything with that name. What are the freqs or control channels and talk groups. I've never work any 700's before and therefore, I'm not familiar with them.

Thanks,
Roy

On the Travis County Database page, click on Great Austin/Travis Regional Radio System.

The site is "Central Austin" (that might be where the confusion came from- I thought it used to be called "Capitol" but nonetheless, the site is still at the Capitol building in Austin. This was supposedly the first 700MHz P25 site in Texas, and is operated by the City of Austin in conjunction with Texas DPS as the state's master switch, if I understand correctly).

The GATRRS database page lists "State Agencies" talkgroups at the far bottom of the page, with 7 DPS talkgroups (everything from a simulcast of KKD303 to fleet operations).
