I would think the ProScan recorder would be more versatile and convenient with more options.

The scanner records to the SD card, so no output connection is necessary.

The record capabilities of these new scanners are not very practical. ProScan offers a much better solution to recording. You can archive recordings. You can have them save on your HD by dates and systems for later use. Plus you can listen to recordings while you continue to listen live. With the recording on these new scanners you are forced to listen to everything the scanner has saved within that set time frame you have set. You can't pause or rewind or fast forward and you can't save or listen to live audio while you're listening to recordings. With ProScan it offers much more versatility.

Can't get the 7.0 update on my laptop with windows xp and also can't update my 6.8 proscan client on my work computer with windows xp?? Is 7.0 not supporting xp now? Thanks

what version of .net is on the XP machines? I am pretty sure you need at least 4.0 for Proscan...
I'm sure Bob will confirm the version needed..

ProScan and Free Client all versions runs on Win XP. Did you have ProScan running on same laptop before? Do you have the Microsoft .NET 2.0 framework installed on the XP machine?

Do you get any error messages.

If I shut down the program with Proscan connected to my remote scanner, I used to only have to restart the program and it would remember what was running. Now I have to go to the Remote Scanner Over IP and click the start button.

Go to the Options ->Start Up and check the option Scanner Over IP Server Auto Start

The Start Up option was changed based on user feedback. Before the change if the connection was broken or server not running then ProScan wouldn't restart the server when ProScan loads. Now the server will start every time regardless of last state when ProScan closes..

I don't believe there is a downloading problem on the ProScan site. Many downloads a day. Disk not full, is it?

No i have plenty of open space. Its strange that i can't get it to upgrade on my work computer also??

Upgrade or download? Are you running Norton Anti-Virus by any chance?

I was trying to upgrade from 6.8 to the new 7.0 When you open up the software you get a window that opens and shows the new 7.0 ver and then you can click the download 7.0 It kept giving me a error trying to download the upgrade. I just tried it again on my radio laptop but i used internet explorer this time instead of google chrome browser. I was able to go right to the proscan site and download the 7.0 upgrade. I wonder if there is some type of problem using the google chrome browser and trying to download the update?? I will try in the morning on my work computer and see if i can download the 7.0 client through explorer to upgrade my 6.8 ver client. I will let you know how i make out. Thanks

Forgot to mention i don't use nortons. I have the windows security essentials anti-virus
