I don't see a "Ports (COM & LPT)" category in your screenshot. Check your computer.

Thats what I just said. " as it goes into USB mass storage mode, you hear the sound of it disconnecting from the computer, reconnecting, then the LPT Commports disappears from device manager. ". That is what is driving me nuts. Why is it disconnecting then reconeccting, only to have the LPT commports diappear? I have never run into something like this..

It's not a ProScan problem.
Check your compute, USB cable, and scanner. If using a USB hub, then try plugging directly into the computer.
If the "Ports (COM & LPT)" disappears then I would think it's more of a computer issue. But on the other hand, the scanner shouldn't go into Mass Storage mode by itself so perhaps a scanner issue.

What type of error are you getting? No changes in this area in a long time. It works here.
Check your antivirus/internet security software. May have to add an exemption or temporarily disable it and see if will allow the connection.

Can no longer update Sentinel dB after updating to 19.7. Later update to 19.7.1 did not fix, and reverting to 19.6 failed, as well. Windows 11 Firewall has Sentinel app pass-through.

ProScan has absolutely nothing to do with Sentinel's updates. I already addressed this issue this morning in this thread, it's a Uniden issue, not ProScan.

I'm sorry you're going through this, but I feel your pain. I am going through the exact same thing with my SDS200 using sentinel. and Proscan. I don't get it. One minute everything is working great, the next minute it's not. I get it on both windows 10 and 11. on two separate machines.

Not a problem on my end, hope you are running OK. I usually wait for others to field test updates, but this is neat stuff. So I backed up my Favorites Lists and they loaded back fine with 19.7.1, so I am fine. Deleted the dB folder and it rebuilt itself. And the weekly Uniden updates are usually minor tweaks. This was a holiday week at Uniden, and the update fell on their first day back. It will get sorted out in a few days.

Yeah, I'm convinced it is on Uniden's end. I was able to read and write to/from the SDS200 with sentinel. I just cannot update anything. That's fine. I still cannot understand the bigger problem; when using proscan, the radio does funky things. The LPT COMMPORTS tab disappears completely after the scanner goes into MASS STORAGE mode. It is weird.

I would unload ProScan to eliminate that variable then figure out why the scanner goes into Mass Storage mode by itself. Flaky SD cards have been known to do some funny things.

It is normal for the "Ports (COM & LPT)" category in the Device Manager to disappear if only one USB device driver is installed and not in use (due to the scanner being in Mass Storage mode). I would concentrate on the scanner side on why it is going into Mass Storage mode by itself. Replace the SD card or at least reseat it.

Ok, maybe I was not clear enough, I apologize for that. The scanner does NOT go into “mass storage “ mode by itself. I hit enter like you’re supposed to. If I don’t, it goes into normal scanning mode, no problem. The issue at hand is this : I plug the programming cable into the USB port with device manager window open. At first I see it in the LPT/COMPORT setting. Fine. Then the screen on the scanner asks if you want to go into mass storage mode, I hit enter. As soon as I do that, you hear the scanner disconnect from the computer sound, then the reconnect sound. However, once in mass storage mode, the LPT/COMPORT tab disappears completely from the device manager and I can’t do anything to / from the scanner via the program. I am using Windows 10 and the Uniden cable that the scanner came with. I don’t get it. And it was working fine until yesterday. I haven’t done any windows updates, changed anything on the computer to justify this. When using other software like Sentinel, and I try to update the firmware or database I get this:A0746DF0-A2AD-46EA-A635-65C686290C27.jpeg
However, with Sentinel I am able to read and write to the scanner. That’s why I originally thought it was a ProScan issue after I updated to the latest version. Now I’m not sure what’s going on.😏

The Uniden Server is back up. Please post any Uniden issues in the Uniden forums in the future.
