I remember during the time OSP and everyone else were still on the Moto SmartNet Type II system, Delaware Post 21 had a TAC channel listed in the database, below the main talkgroup. I remember they had the option to use encryption but were mostly in the clear (De).

Does anyone know if such a TAC channel still exists for Post 21, on the current P25 system?

It's just one of those things I've been thinking about for a while now, and now it's just time to ask it. Cheers 🍻🍺

Most all of the OSP Tac channels are encrypted. All of your primary dispatch talk groups and the OSP Aircraft talk group are in the clear.

You might want to put in some the Ohio Investigative Unit TG. For the past couple of years they have been working the high crime areas looking for people not allowed to carry guns. They work with the larger departments like Cleveland up north. They also work the details where they bring in everybody - AFT, Parole, Warrant Units, etc.

Thank you for the replies everyone. I should have mentioned that I was referring to roughly 10 years ago.

At that time, it was encrypted only part time, when deemed necessary. Would be in the database as a “De”. Ive listened to them in the clear many times on the old TAC on the old system.

Not surprised it’s encrypted these days though.
