Since it began transmitting in 2015, this system has been called many things --some I cannot repeat in polite society. It signed on as the Oklahoma Multi-Agency Communications System (OMACS). Several years ago, when Oklahoma County opted out of the original partnership, the system re-branded as the East Central Oklahoma Emergency Communications Network (ECOECN). At that time, I changed the name in the RadioReference database.
Apparently the name change did not stick, The Citizen Potawatomi Nation, who controls the system currently calls it OMACS. I never like changing things back and forth, but I wanted to explain why the name is being changed back to OMACS.
