Ontario PD on Lo-band???

Hey,

Saw a Ontario PD (wasnt CHP) unit on the 10 freeway today. He had what looked like a VHF-Lo band antenna mounted on the trunk. I was driving so I couldn't snap a pic . Anyone else seen this? My guess would be that its for a CHP radio for that I' word (interoperability). Funny, I remember when Ontario could talk DIRECTLY to CHP on CLEMARS. Ahh the good ole days.....

According to the FCC database they have a licensed frequency on 44.800 FM
