Is it possible to run CAT and charge at the same time?
It would be very handy for me to be able to do this, if I could run a CAT program to control the SDS100 and charge it at the same time. Is this possible??

Thanks!!

Read this thread, particularly posts #2 and #3:

SDS100/SDS200: - SDS100 USB Micro vs Mini Ports

It does not appear that you can charge and use a CAT program at the same time.

You will have to work out which cables/adapters you need to connect power and data cables to match the ports on the scanner.

If you can find a splitter cable with the correct connectors to plug into the regular charge/data port on the scanner you could then charge and use the CAT program at the same time. I look for an adapter and had no luck.

It depends of your PC's USB port. I have a ASRock motherboard that have special USB ports that can even quick charge a cell phone, so enough power to both program and charge at the same time from a single USB cable. Non specified USB ports must always be able to supply 500mA and most ports can do 0,9A and if the port are labeled 2.1A it can supply that current. The scanner takes max 1300mA while running and charge at the same time. If the USB port can't supply enough power the scanners display will say LOW USB voltage and quit charging. If you then add another USB cable to the scanners micro port and use another USB port on the PC it would probably be fine.
