The G and T are in different positions on the display. The G is for Global settings like the attenuator.

If no T your scanner isn't locked on to a control channel. The talkgroups in your scanlist need to be from a trunked radio system in the scanner that has a list of control channels for the system or site you wish to monitor.

turn the attenuation off by pressing the "func" button and the "att" button while the letter "F" is up in the upper left hand corner of the screen and see if the "T" appears and you receive the control channel.

With just the "G" showing by itself, the attenuator is not on... (no signals are being attenuated).

If the "T" is blinking on and off all is good you are recieving the control channel and you should hear traffic on the system.
