Did you power cycle the scanner? What type of scanner? The program only opens the programming portion and not the communication portion of the program. I am running Windows 10 and have not had any problems until I rebooted my computer this morning. Any ideas?
(SDS200) But the second half of Proscan program should boot at the same time as the first when opening the program whether the scanner is booted up or not. And yes I did recycle the radio and the Proscan communications screen did not boot up on the computer. I have rebooted the compter, scanner and radio several times now.Did you power cycle the scanner? What type of scanner?
Is the Favorites Editor hiding the main screen? If so then move the Favorites Editor out of the way.(SDS200) But the second half of Proscan program should boot at the same time as the first when opening the program whether the scanner is booted up or not. Ok I will check that and let you know. ThanksIs the Favorites Editor hiding the main screen? If so then move the Favorites Editor out of the way.
If you're using the Ethernet for communications then check that the scanner IP matches the IP in the ProScan Comm. Port URL Setup.
The main screen was not hidden behind the favorites screen. Ok I had to disable the IP and then re-enable it also reboot the scanner and that seemed to solve my issues. Thanks for the help it's nice to have someone avaailable if we need help. You have a great program. Great customer service! Is the Favorites Editor hiding the main screen? I seem to have lost the connection again and the main screen will not open again. I have disabled and re-enables the IP to no avail this time. I'm sure it is an easy fix but I am just not seeing it.The main screen was not hidden behind the favorites screen. What do you mean by "main screen will not open again" Are you seeing the display and if so, is it blank?I seem to have lost the connection again and the main screen will not open again. I call the recorder screen the main screen which I use all the time and the favorites editor as the secondary. For some reason I can't take a screenshot of the Proscan screen. I have the recorder screen open again but I am not able to connect the scanner again. Around and around I go lol. What do you mean by "main screen will not open again" Are you seeing the display and if so, is it blank?
Can you post a screenshot?
Ok I may have figured it out. I disconnected and reconnected both ends of the Either net cord and it seems to be communicating. Not sure what happened to that but it's working again. This old brain just does not work like it did before. What do you mean by "main screen will not open again" Are you seeing the display and if so, is it blank?

I was going to suggest the cable next. Glad it's working!Ok I may have figured it out. I disconnected and reconnected both ends of the Either net cord and it seems to be communicating. Not sure what happened to that but it's working again. This old brain just does not work like it did before.

What the @#*&I am currently using a ISP provided Modem/Wfi router and paying a monthly fee. I am having an IP or port issue with my SDS200 police scanner and Proscan scanner software not communicating for some reason after moving my router to another room. I am wondering if anyone might have any ideas of what I might do to fix it or second I will need to buy a new router and give the ISP one back. My next question is can anyone give me any suggestions of a router priced under $100 which I will order from Walmart? Any help will be appreciated.
I have moved my router several times in the past and never had a problem with Proscan. I was never able to determine the problem was the Ethernet cable only that I had unplugged and plugged my cable back in once and rebooted my computer and it worked for a short time. It was right after the newest update that it all happened. I am no computer tech sorry if I have offended you. I appreciate your help that was given and never blamed Proscan. I was trying to convey the information that I had. And I am looking for a new router on your suggestion since nothing else has worked. The radio and computer both seem to be working fine. I think you may be right that it has to be the router if everything else is set properly. I posted on the computer forum to try to get whatever help I could on buying a new router or looking into my possible port problem if itis a computer problem. Again thanks for your help but you need to cool your jets buddy! What the @#*&
50 or 60 messages back and forth and now you're saying ProScan stopped communicating after moving the router. And how does an Ethernet communications problem translates to Proscan with newest update will not boot up and then not had any problems until I rebooted my computer ? Good Grief

Since you acknowledge that you aren't computer savvy, the piece of advice I'll give you is always look at everything you've changed since something that was working has suddenly ceased working. Since you didn't mention you had moved (and presumably rewired) your router, the people that were trying to help you didn't know to suggest looking at those changes. Focusing on the ProScan update made you believe it was at least part of the problem, but to all of us it sounded like a network issue.
I agree and I thought I had done that. Thanks for the suggestion.#1 rule of troubleshooting, first place to go is the last place a human was. Old man wisdom.![]()
I have no idea how to do that and to what?Run as Administrator?
