Ok I have had this PSR 600 for awhile but not done alot with it i need to know is it possible to
Load a TRS with say 50 sites/towers and make 50 seperate sites and make 1 scanlist work with all 50 sites
if all on the same system ?

i have tried with arc500 & win500 software which Neither offer to download all towers as unique sites so you have to do it manually .

I travel for work and wanted the Entire Nevada Edacs /statewide system but to putt all the HP TGrp's into Each Tower/site is like 3000 objects .???

Please help And Advise

Assuming you use the term "tower/site" to mean what the SmartNet controller considers a "zone" (i.e., a unique combination of SysID and control channel), then: Yes, you could do this (effectively programming each "zone" as a separate "TSYS" and then combining TGRPs from all of the TSYSs in a single scan list.

But one has to ask: why would you want to?

The result is that your radio will sequence through one "zone" at a time, often hearing nothing while the "zone" close to you remains active.

Then how do i Program a Entire State system ?

The first question is whether you want to listen to the "entire state system" from a fixed location or have a radio that will select the best local zone as you travel around?

In general, if you are at a fixed location, you can only hear the control channels of the sites that are close to you, and you'll only be able to hear voice traffic on talkgroups that are carried on those zones. So there is no point to programming the "entire state system."

If you are moving around, the PSR-500/-600 has a feature that is designed to emulate, with limitations, the "SmartZone" function of a Motorola SmartZone subscriber unit. However, it lacks the ability to mask for SysID, which means that your radio may lock up on a foreign system that is using a control channel near you on a frequency that is used by the target system only far away from you: you're radio will sit silently while you try to figure out what is wrong. Second: the PSR does not use the "adjacent zone" data carried on the SmartZone marker stream to facilitate zone changes, which means that it has to re-scan the entire control channel frequency list if the control channel you're listening to fades. This can cause it to dwell on a distant zone, with poor DAQ. Finally, the PSR does not have the ability to "drag in" foreign TGs on a false affiliation, which SmartZone uses to minimize zone change issues.

The solution I recommend is that each zone be programmed as a separate "TSYS", with its own scan list, and that you manually switch from zone to zone as you travel about, based on your local knowledge of the coverage area of each of the zones.

Edit: the foregoing relates to SmartZone systems, while I've just noticed that the OP may be asking about EDACS systems. I believe my recommendation is equally valid for the latter, but I'm not qualified as an EDACS technician.
