Only RS store within 50 miles having a 'going out of business sale' has scanners at FULL price, only 10% off, and won't match the online price or 10% off the online price. So radio is $499 - 10% or $258 on website from one of the non-closing stores - this is messed-up. Local store never had $20 deal - they just closed the doors and left stuff after 40% off only. They did have a FEW items for 80% off, but it was total crap phone cases and junk drawer parts. Not handling this liquidation very consistently between stores or regions, or fairly, IMO.
Certain area handle liquidation differently and some areas was not consistent at all. In my area they seem to do it right and did it in phases and put out stock a little at a time. RadioShacks in NY area for example handle liquidation very poorly and stay full price all the way to the very end and then clearance out their stock at 80% 90% last minute. So where you hear these stories that some bought the Pro-668 for $50 - $99 bucks and most when to one person who bought them all out for that reason. If they handle it better they could have receive more money and would have been spread out. Was just in a couple area they did that, wasn't common as most areas where they handle liquidation correctly. Scanners and other valuable stock was gone before it hit those prices and only things left was pretty much almost worthless crap.
